Rhett A. Butler, CPA

  • Rhett has over 25 years of both public and private accounting experience and is a principal and founder of Butler & Miller, CPA. Prior to Butler & Miller, CPA, Rhett has served as partner at Snyder & Butler, CPAs, PLLC for many years prior and brings a wealth of tax and audit knowledge to the firm. Rhett has also had other roles in his career. Rhett served as CFO for a behavioral health company, where he successfully guided the company through a merger during the loss of key personnel and significant funding decreases. Rhett also served as Controller for the ASU Foundation, where he was key in streamlining the audit process, improving process efficiency and creating standardized close procedures. Rhett was a Manager and Partner with Kruse Mennillo LLP earlier in his career where he managed the Phoenix office for the California based firm running the Phoenix operations and working with very high net worth tax and audit clients. He began his career preparing taxes for a CPA firm in Texas before he moved to Arizona to join CBIZ MHM LLC where he was an audit associate. Rhett began preparing taxes while working at H & R Block in college. Rhett is also a Dave Ramsey tax ELP and enjoys working with Dave Ramsey fans!

Joseph (Jay) R. Miller, (Retired)

Jay is a principal and founder of Joseph R. Miller, P.C. which is now Butler & Miller, CPA. He is a graduate of Texas A&M at West Texas with a bachelors degree in Business Administration - with a major in Accountancy.

Jay was an owner of an oil field supply and maintenance company prior to starting his public accounting career in June of 1987. He established Joseph R. Miller, P.C. in 1995, as a full service certified public accounting, business and computer-consulting firm.

Jay has worked extensively with clients in the construction, manufacturing and service industries. We are sad to announce that Jay passed away May 31,2024.
